In 1977, the developer of Bent Tree announced the plan to build 74 vacation villas “…at the Bent Tree second-home community in north Georgia.” Eight purchase contracts were signed within the first month for the two bedroom, 2.5 bath duplex-style homes, and the sales price soon rose from the initial $39,500 to $44,500. The plan for 74 “Club Villas” went by the wayside at some point; almost 40 years later, there are about half that number. But, as the 1977 ad (shown below) promised, “The Club Villas are located right in the heart of Bent Tree.” They are by the Tennis Center and swimming pools, and are close to both the front gate and the golf course.
