July 13, 2017 – buoys in place for Sunday’s Regatta

The yellow buoys reappeared earlier this week, so there must be a regatta coming up soon (click here if you’re interested in some buoy background info).  The photo below was taken in 2014.  UPDATE – the regatta is scheduled for Sunday, July 16 at 2:30 p.m.  Information on the Sailing Club is available on the official Bent Tree website (login required).  Go to the drop-down menu under “Community Life A-L”, click on “Lake & Wildlife”, then click on “Sailing Club” under the Lake & Wildlife Subcommittees.

Bright Buoys

The Bent Tree Sailing Club now has yellow buoys.  Last year, the Board gave the club permission to place semi-permanent buoys in Lake Tamarack during the sailing season. Last year, the buoys were white.  The yellow ones definitely show up more than the white ones.  It’s possible these are just temporary for a race or regatta.  Or, maybe they are there for the months of the sailing season.
