Congratulations to the winner of the men’s 2020 Bent Tree Golf Club Championship this weekend. This was the 14th time he has won…amazing! I think 1984 was the first year he took home the trophy.

Click here to link to the National Golf Foundation’s July 29th Covid-19 Impact article. At the mid-point of the year, data is pointing to a possible 20% increase in the number of junior golfers (ages 6-17) this year. Quoting from the article, “It makes sense, with golf celebrated as a safe and healthy outdoor activity for all ages as the coronavirus rages on. With many youth sports on hold or slowly coming back, and families seeking activities they can do together, especially as schools were out, golf has emerged as a terrific alternative.“
It was hit by the Greens Superintendent on Hole 4. Click here for a previous post showing him at work getting the back nine ready for play.
Here’s hoping the rain stays away long enough to get in the Ice Breaker tournament today. It will definitely be much warmer than last year’s Ice Breaker.
Bent Tree’s annual Ice Breaker golf tournament is scheduled for next Saturday (January 11, 2020). The format is a fun two-person team scramble, with each player limited to only three clubs (no sharing). There are men’s and ladies’ divisions, and the start time is 10:00 a.m. Call or stop in at the Golf Pro Shop for more information.
