Yesterday, there was a flurry of activity in the dogwood tree (the same one from Saturday’s post). Several juvenile tufted titmice were flitting around the branches for a few minutes, so I grabbed my camera and started snapping pictures (see below for a couple of different shots of one of the birds). In the midst of all of that, a hummingbird landed on a branch long enough for me to get a pretty good shot (see header photo above).
An official Bent Tree Bullet was sent out yesterday including the news that the Board of Directors selected a new member to replace the resignee. The new director is the wife of a former director (he served a three year term that just ended in December). The new director has been serving as Secretary of the Lake & Wildlife Standing Committee and as Secretary-Treasurer of the Tennis Standing Committee, but she will have to step down from both committees. According to the Bent Tree Rules and Regulations, “Board members will not serve as members of a Standing Committee. The sole exception being, the President of the Board will appoint a Board member to be the Chairperson of the Golf & Greens Committee.”
The weather in Bent Tree was beautiful over the weekend. Maybe spring really is right around the corner.
